Astralis sign Danish star players "jabbi" and "stavn"

Astralis and Heroic have agreed to a transfer for Martin "stavn" Lund and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard.

With immediate effect the two players replace Christian "Buzz" Andersen and Johannes "b0RUP" Borup on the Astralis main team roster.

Anders Hørsholt, CEO:

- First of all, I want to welcome Martin and Jakob to Astralis. They both have the qualities and mindset we are looking for in Astralis, and by bringing in two players of this caliber we take an important step towards our goals short and long term. Both players have made it very clear how much they want to be a part of our organization, which besides raw talent and hard work is key to becoming a success in Astralis.

- I want to thank Christian and Johannes for their time here, while looking forward to seeing the team and everybody around it get to work.

Martin "stavn" Lund:

- The past few months have been been very turbulent and uncertain, so I am thrilled to have my future in CS2 secured with Astralis.

- My journey with Heroic, spanning over four years, has been filled with unforgettable memories. I'm sincerely grateful for the fans' support, the dedication of those within and around the organization and, naturally, for all the many players I've had the privilege of sharing the Jersey with. It has been blood, sweat and tears. Thanks to all of you.

- After all this time it's now time for something new, and I have had to go with what feels right for me at this point of my career.

- With the project we are building here in Astralis and the chance of getting to play with one of the greatest players of all time in dev1ce is very exciting to me and isa rare opportunity. Moreover, I'm looking forward to get back on the server with blameF and get to play with Staehr.

- Astralis is one of the greatest organizations in Counter-Strike's history, and I hope to be part of a new successful chapter with them in CS2. I will fight with all I have to succeed here for my own, the squad's and the organization’s sake.

Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard:

- I want to thank everyone in Heroic, who has been a part of the journey we've shared together the past year and a half. I've really enjoyed my time, and together we created memories that will stay with me for life.

- The past month or so has been very tumultuous, but I'm happy that my future is now settled. I can't wait to start this new adventure in Astralis with Martin and all of my new teammates, coaches and support staff!

- I'm really looking forward to start practicing CS2 in a team environment, and hopefully the boys can help me and Martin get up to speed.

- I will do everything in my power to achieve the goals we share in Astralis, for myself, my teammates, the club - but most importantly all our fans!

Kasper Straube, Sports Director:

- We are continuing the work and the development that has been laid out for us and I am delighted that we are now taking a big step in the right direction. Having said that, even with today's arrival of two class players, we still have a lot of work ahead of us and while the big dreams are being fuelled, we are also realistic and know that nothing comes of nothing.

- I would like to thank "b0RUP" and "Buzz" for their tireless contribution to the team. I have the greatest respect for both of them as players and people and am sure they have a bright future ahead of them!

- At the same time, I am excited to say the least that we are bringing in two top quality players who, in terms of playing style and personality, are tailored to the Astralis team and organisation. Their quality on the server needs no elaboration and at the same time they are both humble but extremely eager to develop as players and contribute to the team and community of Astralis. Today we are taking a significant leap forward and I am both proud and excited to have Martin and Jakob on board, says the sports director.

Meet the team and the new players on Saturday

On Saturday at 10 am, Astralis fans meet up for a big fan event in Fields, held together with OMEN and Elgiganten, next to Royal Arena. Here, the fans will be able to meet the team, including jabbi and stavn from 12 noon, where they will also start the big fan march at 12:45.
