On Tuesday, February 7, our Rainbow Six team played their first match in the Six Invitational 2023, the world championship in competitive Rainbow Six Siege, with a prize pool of $3,000,000. Despite an initial win on our map pick, Oxygen Esports managed a reverse sweep to take their first win in Group C.

The match was BO3 against Oxygen Esports, with Border, Bank, and Kafe Dostoyevsky being the maps to play. The first match was on our map pick, Border. A game of back-and-forth round wins had the teams dead even at 6-6, which meant we needed to win the next two rounds in a row to secure the map victory. Our squad pulled every trick in their book to win the maps, ending the first map 8-6 in our favor.

Map two was Bank, where our team turned Oxygen Esports 2-round start into a 3-2 lead. However, Oxygen soon proved why they'd picked Bank, winning the next five rounds and turning the map points even.

The third and deciding map was Kafe Dostoyevski, where our squad started with an offensive series of round victories. With only one round for match victory at 5-4, Oxygen Esports fought back and managed to get a hattrick in round points, ending the map and thus the match 5-7 in their favor.

Next up, our team will play against Cyclops Athlete Gaming on February 9, 22:00 CET. Our team will have to place in the top four in their group of five to progress to the next stage in the Six Invitational 2023.
