Decider Match Drama Results In Tournament Exit

We are out of ESL Pro League Season 17 as we lost 0-2 against Team Liquid yesterday, March 19.

The team started the day by getting revenge against Team Spirit, who beat us earlier in the tournament, which you can read more about here.

A few hours later, at around 19:40 CET, we faced Team Liquid, ranked #3 in the world, in the final match of the Last Chance Stage, meaning the winner would qualify for Playoffs while the loser would be eliminated.

We picked Nuke as the first map of the series, where we began by winning the first three rounds in a row. Liquid then imitated our three-round streak, and we got our fourth round on the board afterward. Our opponents responded by taking the lead 7-4, but we quickly tied the score 7-7.

A technical pause was then called, presumably about dev1ce, who experienced troubles with his keyboard. Unfortunately, the team never recovered from the technical delay, as Liquid won the map 8-16.

On the CT side of Mirage, we conquered the first half as we reached a 7-0 lead. The North American squad fought back, but we still managed to end the half 10-5. Especially blameF, gla1ve, and dev1ce were excellent defenders in the first half.

Sadly, we didn't get going on the T-side on Team Liquid's map pick. The map ended 12-16, which resulted in our exit from the tournament.

Thank you all for the support during ESL Pro League. Next up for the main squad is the IEM Dallas Open Qualifier running from March 22 - 23.
