Gla1ve Returns, Ready For Tournaments

January 19, 2021

gla1ve is back for Pro League

The anticipation for Lukas 'gla1ve' Rossander's return to the active Astralis roster has been high, ever since he went on sick leave earlier this year.

So far, gla1ve's role since his return has been to help Danny 'zonic' Sørensen with tactics and analysis, but now he is back on the server and on the team, and as such, he will be playing today, Thursday, against Complexity at CEST 17:30.

Lukas 'gla1ve' Rossander, Astralis:

- I'm really excited to get back on the server. It's hard to say where my level will be against a top team like Complexity right now, but I've had some really good practice sessions with the team lately. Intergrating the two new players have gone well, and I'm looking forward to playing with my old teammates, as well as with 'Bubzkji' and 'es3tag', they've both performed really well already.

As Astralis currently hold a seven-man roster, this will also be the first time coach zonic has had to select specific players for a match.

While he made an impactful debut on the team, Patrick 'es3tag' Hansen will not be a part of the starting line-up in the Pro League opening match against Complexity. He will be observing and analyzing the gameplay and the team further, as well as assisting with preparation for the upcoming matches.

Danny 'zonic' Sørensen, Head Coach, Astralis:

- It's fantastic to have Lukas back on the active roster. This is the first time I've had to swap players, and it has actually been a difficult decision because es3tag has been doing such a great job during tournaments and practice.

- In the coming months, all of our available players will get to play, and our priority will always be to go into tournaments with the strongest possible roster. It will depend on the opponent and how the players are performing, as well as their need for breaks, but other than having more great players for the team, I also have more eyes to help me analyze the games.

- Firstly, I'm just really excited to have Lukas back. It shows that we're taking good care of our boys and he has come back with a lot of energy and hunger. We're going to look after him, but I am not at all worried about having him play today, the coach comments.

The first match of the tournament for Astralis is against Complexity at 17:30 CEST today, Thursday.
