After battling for survival against our German neighbors, BIG, we come out on top and secure our spot in IEM Cologne 2022.
The mood was intense and excited going into this final match, deciding whether or not we would play past the Play-In stage of IEM Cologne.
The first map was our pick, Nuke, where BIG had a fantastic start on the CT-side, leaving us with dire hopes for the second half at 4-11. Star performances from especially k0nfig and Farlig managed to subvert expectations and dominate the defensive game, ending game one at 16-14.
Next map was a BIG favorite, Dust2, and they showed why. Despite us winning the first half 9-6, BIG turned up in the second, not letting our offensive side penetrate their defensive and shutting us down 13-16.
The deciding map was played on Overpass, where both teams gave each other a hard time, not giving up the spot in IEM Cologne. In the first half we managed to get 9 T-side wins, providing a healthy buffer to focus in the final stage of the series. BIG started closing the gap on their T-side, making the score dead even at 11-11.
Then, our dynamic duo blameF and k0nfig made several decisive plays along the rest of the team, shutting down BIG with 5 consecutive wins, ending the map 16-11 and the series 2-1.
Our first match in IEM Cologne 2022 will be against FURIA on Friday, July 8, at 12:30 CEST.
