After beating the No. 1 ranked team in the world, Vitality, 2-1, the Main team is ready to face them again in the well-known BO3 format.

Vitality managed to play their way through the Lower Bracket Final with a 2-1 win over the newly assembled roster in Falcons.

Astralis' road to the Group Final

Nicolai 'dev1ce' Reedtz and Co. were the first team in the BLAST Premier Spring Groups LAN tournament to play against the newly assembled Team Falcons. Being the former core of Ence, everybody had high hopes. Vertigo was the first map—a map both teams knew to perfection.

Former Astralis member Emil 'Magisk' Reif and the rest of Falcons gave some resistance but ultimately fell short, losing 8-13 on Ancient losing the BO3.

Going up against Vitality proved to be a rough start on the Main team's map pick, Mirage. After 8 rounds, they finally found their synergy and went on to win the first map.

Vitality proved to be a formidable opponent on their map pick Vertigo, leaving Benjamin 'blameF' Bremer and his squad no chance to make a comeback. The match ended with a loss of 6-13.

The last map was Overpass. A successful knife round allowed the Danish team to pick sides, and as anybody would, they opted for CT. The first half ended 9-3, leaving Vitality desperate to win the pistol round to have any hope of winning.

They did not live up to the expectations, and after only five rounds in the second half, you could hear the roars from the Danish players.

Vitality's road to the Group Final

OG was Vitality's first victim of a merciless defeat. IGL Nils 'k1to' Gruhne and his squad picked Mirage as the first map, only to be faced with a loss of 0-13.
Vitality was victorious on their map pick Inferno, beating OG 13-7, leaving them to fight for their lives against Falcons.

Even with a loss against the Danes, Mathieu' ZywOo' Herbaut made sure not to let his K/D ratio take any damage, as he got a ridiculous +24 positive ratio.

Falcons grew with the tournament, proving to be a more challenging opponent than Vitality might have hoped for.
Vitality suffered defeat after double overtime on Nuke but retaliated immediately with a 13-9 victory on Vertigo.

Once again, Vitality got pushed to a third and decisive map. Falcons held on to everything but ultimately had to suffer a defeat of 8-13 from the IGL Dan 'apEX' Madesclaire and his teammates.

Will history repeat itself?

Vitality may still be ranked the number one team, but facing defeat in the Upper Bracket Final, the European roster proved they are not immortals.

Surely, we can expect this final to be a fight between two powerful rosters, but will the Main team once again be victorious and contribute to pushing Vitality down the world rankings?
