At the start of September, we launched a new Counter-Strike team who participated in the second season of ESL's Impact League. About a month later, we played our last match of the season.
Unfortunately, beginner's luck wasn't the case in our first season. We ended up on at #4 in Group B, despite being just two points away from the second place. Regardless, the players have steadily improved over the weeks and displayed some great highlights. Another win, and we would have continued to playoffs, which we're aiming for in the coming season 3.
Our debut match against BIG EQUIPA ended 0-2, but with map scores of 12-16 on Dust II and 14-16 on Ancient, our athletes definitely presented the potential.
The following week we took a map victory versus NAVI Javelins on Ancient but fell through on Vertigo and Mirage, resulting in a 1-2 loss against the group favorites.
MOSTVALUABLEPLAYERS showed up well-prepared against aurora and co., forcing a 0-2 defeat a week later.
On September 30th, we faced BIG EQUIPA once again. After gathering experience by playing more official matches, we were now looking for revenge.
It only took two maps, Ancient (16-9) and Nuke (16-9), for Astralis to claim the victory with tremendous performances from kezziwow and Joanana.
NAVI Javelins remained undefeated after we lost 0-2 in a tough match on October 7th.
We ended our ESL Impact League run with a 2-1 win versus MOSTVALUABLEPLAYERS. Especially RacheLL was hungry for success as she topped the scoreboard on Mirage and Overpass with 27 frags on each map.
That concludes our journey in the ESL Impact League Season 2, filled with exciting matches and, most importantly, the opportunity to learn from our mistakes.
